Training Department

The Human Rights and Transitional Justice Training Department of AAPP was established in 2013. Since then, it has delivered trainings on human rights, human rights documentation, transitional justice, and awareness sessions throughout Myanmar. After the 2021 coup, the department continued its work through online platforms, reaching student union members, civil disobedience movement participants, ethnic organization members, Human Rights activists, political party members, and civil society organizations.

Through the networks formed with participants, the department also collaborates closely with the AAPP Documentation Department by contributing information on widespread human rights violations and abuses occurring across the country.

Our Mission

Our mission is to strengthen the capacity of civil society organizations, ethnic youth, women, LGBTIQ+ communities, students, and political party members. We equip them with the knowledge and practical skills needed to conduct human rights documentation and to understand transitional justice more deeply, thereby supporting broader accountability efforts.

What We Do

We provide online trainings on the following topics:

  • Human Rights, Human Rights Violation Documentation and Transitional Justice training (Basic and Advanced) and awareness sessions
  • International Humanitarian Law (IHL) training and awareness sessions

Our Approach

AAPP is an independent human rights organization with experience in human rights documentation work since 2000 and a strong reputation for credibility, accountability advocacy, and commitment to peace and reconciliation. All trainings are contextualized to the Myanmar situation and are delivered using interactive, participatory, inclusive, and adaptive methods to ensure meaningful learning and practical outcomes.
