After being apprehended by junta forces, Kyaw Linn Aung (aka) Pyi Kyaw from Pyay Township, Bago Region, was charged under Section 52(a) and Section 51(c) of the Counter-Terrorism Law. Thayet District Court sentenced him to a total of 11 years in prison under both charges in 2023. While imprisoned in Thayet Prison, despite having no prior health issues, his health began to deteriorate on September 13, 2025, due to a lack of adequate healthcare and nutrition. On September 14, 2025, he sought medical treatment at the prison hospital ward. The following day, he was transferred to Thayet District Hospital for further treatment. However, on September 17, 2025, he died from suffocation.
