These are the numbers verified by AAPP. The actual numbers are likely much higher. We will continue to update accordingly.
In Yamethin Prison, Mandalay Region, political prisoners are facing various forms of oppression and are being subjected to arbitrary monetary demands from the Superintendent. In the female ward of Daik-U Prison in Bago Region, skin diseases are spreading as inmates are being crammed into a single cell. In Thayarwady Prison, inmates are also suffering severely from skin diseases caused by overcrowding and face a lack of water for drinking and for general-use. They are also not receiving adequate medical care.
Furthermore, daily airstrikes by the junta continue to claim the lives of civilians. On September 12, junta forces conducted an aerial bombing with a fighter jet on two private high schools in Tha Yet Ta Pin Village, Kyauktaw Township, Rakhine State, killing more than 20 students.
