Since the 1 February 2021 coup, a total of (6,662) people, including pro-democracy activists and civilians, have been killed by the junta and pro-military groups during the Spring Revolution.
Since the coup, a total of (29,142) people have been arrested by the junta in relation to its seizure of power. (22,175) are currently in detention, (10,776) of whom are serving sentences.
These are the numbers verified by AAPP. The actual numbers are likely much higher. We will continue to update accordingly.
According to the data collected by the AAPP, from January 1 to May 13, 2025, (105) children in total under the age of 18; (53) girls and (52) boys, were killed by the junta across the country. The identities of these victims have been verified. Among them, Sagaing Region records the highest number of deaths, totaling (34), followed by (21) people in Magway Region. Among the (105) deceased, (89) people were killed by the junta’s airstrikes, recording the highest cause of death.
On May 12, at 9:30 a.m., junta’s Air Force carried out an aerial bombing with high-explosive bombs, targeting a school full of students in Oe Htein Kwin Village, Tabayin Township, Sagaing Region. The attack instantly killed two teachers and 20 students due to bomb shrapnel.
