Daily Briefing in Relation to the Military Coup

As of August 31, (1040) people are now confirmed killed by this junta coup. AAPP compiled and documented (2) fallen heroes today. These (2) fallen heroes from Chan Mya Tharsi Township and Myingyan Township in Mandalay Region were killed on August 30 and documented today. This is the number verified by AAPP, the actual number of fatalities is likely much higher. We will continue adding as and when.
As of August 31, a total of (6069) people are currently under detention. (259) people have been sentenced in person, of them 26 have been sentenced to death (incl. 2 children). 1984 are evading arrest warrants. 118 people have been sentenced in absentia, of them 39 sentenced to death in absentia. In total 65 sentenced to death, in person and absentia. We are also continuing to verify the recently released detainees.
Nay Win, a three-wheel motorbike driver, was shot dead by terrorist junta soldiers in Chan Mya Tharsi Township, Mandalay Region, after soldiers fired at two motorcyclists who allegedly threw bombs at the location where the military had set up camp.
Kyaw Myo Zin, who was a village administrator in Thae Phyu Wa Ywarma Village of Mandalay Region’s Myingyan Township under the NLD government, was apprehended and his hands tied and placed on his back by the junta troops, who then shot Kyaw Myo Zin dead at the top of the village on August 30 at 9 pm.
On the afternoon of August 30, Ye Yint Aung, NLD executive member for Myaung Township in Sagaing Region, was arrested at his home in Kue Toe Kone Village by the terrorist troops.
A youth named Aung Moe Kyaw was arrested at home by around 10 police on the evening of August 27 at Mogok Town in Mandalay Region and was sentenced to one year imprisonment under Section 505 of the Penal Code the same day.
